NEW YORK—The Cyprus Action Network of America (CANA) is reporting that as of July 4th, 2010 American celebrity Jennifer Lopez has still not cancelled or denied that she is set to visit the illegal bandit pseudo-state that is recognized by no-one but Turkey . Greek-Cypriots around the world have sent an immense volume of grass-roots protest letters to the William Morris Agency in New York representing Lopez. The letter-writing campaign initiated by CANA has been joined by THE MOVEMENT FOR FREEDOM AND JUSTICE IN CYPRUS, CYPRUS' MOVEMENT OF REFUGEES & DISPLACED MOTHERS ,ADOULITI KIRENIA, EFYLAKAS,TO KYPRIAKO PONTIKI newspaper in Cyprus, American Hellenic Council AHC, HELLENIC ELECTRONIC CENTER (HEC)", THE NATIONAL HERALD ETHNIKOS KYRYX Newspaper in New York, TA NEA newspaper in London, promoted and supported by daily Simerini in Cyprus and other Media groups and a vast number of websites around the world and the FACEBOOK group AGAINST JENNIFER LOPEZ PERFORMING IN OCCUPIED CYPRUS with 8,000 members joining last week.
Today’s July 5th, 2010 issue of high-circulation Turkish newspaper Zaman confirmed the political nature of Lopez’s illegal visit, they claim that Jennifer Lopez signed an agreement with the so-called “Crato” hotel/casino owners just three days ago . Zaman reported “It is true that Greeks put pressure on Lopez not to visit to “Turkish” Cyprus . Of course, she was affected by the pressure. She even receives threats from Greeks. In effect, she has certain hesitation. However, there is a contract that is signed by the actress,” The Turkish lobby is also planning reportedly to broadcast this event to 193 countries but noted that “The Cyprus Action Network of America (CANA) urged its community to call, fax and email the William Morris Agency in New York that represents Lopez to urge her “not to visit Turkish-occupied Cyprus.” The same report today confirmed that she is expected on July 20th the 36th anniversary of the illegal Turkish military-invasion of Cyprus . In a report today prepared in Cyprus by KYPE and given to news wires today. Hurriyet newspaper says that PM Ertogan will inaugurate the hotel. The Turkish Volkan newspaper referring to the 'activism by the Greek Cypriots' is wondering how can they come to an agreement on the Cyprus issue and calls upon the T/c Dervis Eroglou to cancel his next visit with Christofias so as to demonstrate against the Greek Cypriot stance on Lopez. CNN-TURK claimed yesterday that the Lopez event is orchestrated in order to "bring the two communities,Greek and Turkish, together."Turkish media reports claim that Lopez will be paid $ 3 Million dollars to celebrate with the unrepententant rapists of 800 Greek-Cypriot women.
